Adhinathar Jain Temple, Sathuperipalayam, Thiruvannamalai
Adhinathar Jain Temple is a Jain Temple dedicated to Jain Thirthankar Adhinathar located at Sathuperipalayam Village in Thiruvannamalai District of Tamilnadu. Sathuperipalayam is situated on the Arani - Devikapuram road near Thatchur village at about 8 Kms from Arani town. It has Garbhagriha, Arthamandapam, Mahamandapam, and Mugamandapam like traditional Jinalayas. The Temple is surrounded by walls on all sides.



The Jinalaya might be five hundred years old. Sages would have been lived in the Jinalayam in the Muni-vasam (saint-dwell) in olden times. The Moolavar Shri Adinathar idol, stone plate carving with eight features are ornamented on the back, might be four hundred years old, is on the vedi-dais. It has a Vimana with Shikhara and Kalasha.



The two - tier Vimana consists of Thirthankar mortar statues in the sitting posture and few Yaksha, Yakshis on each direction. Arthamandapam comprises of platforms of daily pooja idols along with metal alloy statues. Two stone made Navadevathas and 24 Thirthankars cluster also included. Shri Brahmadevar on an elephant, stone statue, is on a separate structure. All are secured tightly by twin-doors on the partition wall.



Medium size Mahamandapam pavilion and a Mugamandapam porch were annexed in the temple structure. The fore-porch has many pillars with incision of Thirthankars, swan, lion and Kalasha as bas-relief. An altar was laid in fore on the open corridor. All Poojas and rituals of the religion are conducted regularly in the Jinalaya. Contact: +91 9600382017.



Sathuperipalayam is situated on the Arani - Devikapuram road near Thatchur village at about 8 Kms from Arani town. The Temple is located at about 25 Kms from Chetpet, 55 Kms from Thiruvannamalai and 57 Kms from Vandavasi. Nearest Railway Station is located at Arani and Nearest Airport is located at Chennai.
